Westbourne Terrace

Renovation of a Grade II listed apartment for a leading London gallerist

A piano nobile apartment in a Grade II listed terrace built around 1840 and situated in the Bayswater Conservation Area of the City of Westminster. The apartment retained a number of original Georgian features including decorative plaster ceilings and cornices and tall shuttered French casement windows. The refurbishment for contemporary art gallerist Thomas Dane focussed on incorporating the historic features into a comfortable contemporary home in which to live with art. Modest interventions throughout achieved greater functionality, warmth and contemporary detail.
