David will be giving a lecture in Milan on 19th May as part of Italian architecture journal, Casabella's 'Laboratorio' series. Mar 2025SMAK in A+

"There must be few missions more complex than the project for the new S.M.A.K." writes Pieter T’Jonck in the current Belgian architecture magazine A+ about our ongoing work to expand the museum in Ghent. Won in collaboration with NoA Architecten and Asli Ciçek through an international design competition in 2024, our proposal includes retaining all materials on site to be repurposed - likely to be one of the largest circular construction cultural projects in Europe. Read more about Issue 311, "Circular Plans," at the A+ website here.

Feb 2025Hamburg Synagogue

David Kohn Architects has been selected to take part in a major international design competition for the reconstruction of the Bornplatz Synagogue in Hamburg, which was destroyed by the Nazis in 1938. In collaboration with Hoehler+Partners and Wirtz Landscape a proposal for this challenging project will be submitted next month. This builds on our mixed-use campus designs such as New College, Oxford and our work in Germany. Photo: the team visiting Hamburg in January.
